Ian Harebottle, arch senior manager of Gemfields, said: "This is a singular find. The Insofu displays smashing colour and great translucency. Its perfect size, abounding colour and excellent protecting biotite bombard have it formidable to see low in to the gem. However, all indications indicate that the core of the emerald is efficient and that it should produce a series of cut gems of poignant size."

The largest untouched emerald believed to have been found was in Carnaiba, Brazil in 1974. It was an implausible 86,136-carat healthy beryl crystal. The mill was in the future valued at $1,120,080. The largest emerald clear ever detected was 7,025 carats and was found in a cave in Colombia.
